Indian Prime Minister Presents Plan for Ethical, Inclusive AI
Speaking at the event, he noted that participation from over 100 countries had elevated the summit’s “success to new heights.”
He introduced India’s “MANAV” framework for AI, explaining that the acronym represents moral and ethical systems, accountable governance, national sovereignty, accessible and inclusive technology, and valid and legitimate systems. The term Manav comes from Sanskrit and means human.
The prime minister said the vision would serve as “a crucial link for humanity’s welfare in the AI-driven world of the 21st century.”
Highlighting AI as a transformative force, he remarked that “if directionless, it leads to disruption,” but “with the right direction, it becomes a solution.”
He warned that humans “must not become mere data points or raw material for AI,” and emphasized that the technology must be democratized. AI, he said, should function as a vehicle for “inclusion and empowerment,” especially for the Global South.
Underlining India’s leadership in the sector, the prime minister added that the country “is not just a part of the AI revolution” but is “leading and shaping it.”
“Artificial intelligence marks a transformative chapter in human history,” he said.
